hunting knife. The beautiful
4-Pin
bone handle
has a
detailed carved image
of a
Stag or Buck.
This heavy duty clip-point
German
steel blade is reflective
and measures
5  1/8" long. The "Ackermannchen" trademarked knife
fits like a glove in the
"Made In Germany" leather sheath.
This real bone/stag "Scrimshaw h
andle"  & "mirror-like steel blade"
are a fine example of a quality-made German vintage knife.

are known worldwide for their fine knife materials and attention to detail, and this one is no exception!

HANDLE
:
This
amazingly good condition
vintage knife has a
real antler / bone handle
with natural grooves & raised patterns.  There are secure
multi-colored spacers
and the middle of the handle has a detailed
"Scrimshaw buck / elk" full image design
.  This is a
4-Pin split stag handle
that is easy to grip and feels heavy when held in your hand.
The
beautiful stag handle displays
rich color tones
and natural signs of light aging.  (I wish we all could have just natural signs of "light aging" - lol)
T
he
1  1/8" long,
brass finger guard
is tight
and so is the
shiny aluminum pommel
which is secured with a
3/8" brass tang nut
. This detailed
hand-carved handle
has No looseness, No chips, and No cracks.
This beautiful
4-Brass Pins
"
Scrimshaw stag handle"
has the
"full carved image of an elk"
making it a great knife to collect or display.
BLADE:
This
quality German Steel
hunting/skinning blade is "
mirror-like"
and measures 5  1/8" inches long.  The Solingen knife's
blade spine
is a hefty
3/16" thick at
the
brass guard
.  There is also a
false top edge
that could be sharpened if desired.
This reflective
clip-point
fixed blade is in
Exceptional condition for its age,
along with some faint, fine, surface marks. Also I did run my finger along "the blade side stamped
Ackermannchin"..
.
and I felt "a slight small surface indention" near the tip.  This small area (approx. 3/16" x 1/4") can be located in the photos where there are a few short, light surface scratches (located approx. 1/2" from the actual tip).
This decades old
Solingen Germany
hunting knife
appears full
and has
No blade edge nicks.
It is just waiting for the right person to appreciate its unique design & early history, and make it their own.

SHEATH:
The companion
leather sheath fits the Solingen knife very well and makes for secure carrying.  This
rough-back leather case
has some light surface scuffs and normal signs of handling.  The sheath (or case) has

fastening strap with snap
.
There is also a handy
belt slot.
